Americans and businesses may be asking: Where’s my tax refund?

This year, more Americans and businesses may be asking: Where’s my tax refund?

That’s because cash-strapped states such as North Carolina, Alabama and Hawaii have been forced to slow down issuing income tax refunds to individuals and businesses because of a lack of funds in their budget.

Kansas has hinted that a delay might be possible, and processing paper refunds in Iowa has slowed because the state doesn’t haven’t enough employees to get them processed faster.

Another state, New York, is still considering whether they’ll follow the likes of Hawaii and delay refund payments.

“States typically do this when they are tight and they don’t have a budget in place,” said Karla Dennis, SOURCE

So do you think things are getting better, or can’t you see beyond your nose that things are worst now a little over a year of Barack Obama?

Anti-Obama ‘RedNeck Rap’

A Kansas legislator reposted his “RedNeck Rap” video criticizing President Barack Obama on YouTube on Friday after adding an introduction responding to critics who assailed it as racist.

Republican state Rep. Bill Otto, dressed in a jacket and tie, explains in the introduction that the ballcap he wears in the original video — calling opossum “the other dark meat” — is a reference to his own “hillbilly” heritage, not the nation’s first black president.

Otto, who represents an eastern Kansas district and lives in LeRoy, about 75 miles south of Topeka, posted the video on YouTube last month, but it came down Thursday after a fellow legislator called it as “disturbing” and suggested it was evidence of bigotry. Read More

That was the response from politicians and business leaders in Kansas on Monday to moves by President Barack Obama to transfer terrorism suspects from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to facilities in the United States, perhaps including Kansas.

“This is a patently bad idea,” Republican Senator Sam Brownback told reporters in the northeast Kansas riverside community of Leavenworth near the Fort Leavenworth U.S. Army base, which was cited this weekend as a possible new home for the Guantanamo prisoners.

The Washington Post reported on Sunday that a government task force was considering as possible sites Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and a 604-bed maximum security prison in Standish, Michigan, that is scheduled to be closed. Read More

Kansas Revolts Over Planned Terrorist Transfers
Kansas’ two U.S. senators are blocking 10 of President Barack Obama’s nominees for senior administration posts at the Pentagon and Justice Department in protest over a proposal to house Guantanamo detainees at the Fort Leavenworth prison.

The list of blocked nominees includes a fellow Republican member of Congress — Obama’s pick for Army secretary, Rep. John McHugh of New York.

Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts, both R-Kan., said Thursday that they are prepared to block the appointments until they get answers from the White House about the proposal. And they said they want Leavenworth taken off the list of potential relocation spots. Read More
