Bayh, an Indiana Democrat, announced Monday that he will not seek re-election in November. Bayh is the third Democratic senator to announce he is retiring. Dodd of Connecticut and Sen. Byron Dorgan of North Dakota previously said they would not seek re-election. “Congress is not operating as it should,” Bayh said at a news conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, adding there’s too much partisanship and “the people’s business is not getting done.” Bayh said he loves public service, but does “not love Congress” and is “not motivated by strident partisanship or ideology.” SOURCE

Congress has yet to come up with a clear prescription for the nation’s health care system. But some state legislators are already urging voters not to take the medicine.
Under Arizona‘s Health Care Freedom Act, which was passed by the state legislature this week, a voting initiative will be placed on the 2010 ballot that, if passed, will allow the state to opt out of any federal health care plan. Five other states Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming are considering similar initiatives for their 2010 ballots.
“Our health care freedoms are very much at risk by health care reforms proposed in Washington, D.C.,” said Arizona state Rep. Nancy Barto, the Republican legislator who sponsored the measure. “We needed to act as a state to protect our citizens and ensure that they will always be able to buy their own health care and not be forced into a plan they don’t want. We sure need someone with alittle sense to protect the American people from Obama’s government control health care! I don’t think the government should be making my health decisions, how about you, do you feel OK with Obama making your health care decisions? Plus now that Obama has said we should not treat old folks to save money, just give then pain pills and let them die!
Caterpillar Inc. of Illinois on Tuesday announced nearly 2,400 layoffs despite President Obama using his home state’s company as an example of a struggling manufacturer that would benefit from his economic stimulus plan and save jobs.
The new round of job cuts will span five plants in Illinois, Indiana and Georgia, and follows the January news that Caterpillar would slash 22,000 people from its 112,000-person workforce.
Mr. Obama hosted an event in support of his stimulus plan at the company’s Peoria, Ill., headquarters in mid-February, saying the $787 billion stimulus would be “a major step forward on our path to economic recovery.”
Obama spending billions of tax payers money and the economy is getting worst. He can not seem to understand that we can not spend our self out of this crisis!
