3 Million Seniors May Have to Switch Drug Plans In Fall


This will hurt senior citizens which Obama promised them that his Obamacare would allow seniors to keep their health plans. Just another Obama and Democrat control Congress lie! We were warned by the Republicans that Obamacare would hurt senior citizens.

A Medicare plan to try to make it simpler for consumers to pick drug coverage could force 3 million seniors to switch plans next year even if they don’t want to, says an independent analysis.

That risks undercutting President Barack Obama’s promise that people can keep their health plans if they like them.

And it could be an unwelcome surprise for many seniors who hadn’t intended to make a change during Medicare’s open enrollment season this fall.

Avalere Health, a leading private research firm, estimated that more than 3 million beneficiaries will see their prescription plan eliminated as part of a new Medicare effort to winnow duplicative coverage and offer consumers more meaningful choices.

In 1994, Tennessee launched an ambitious public insurance program to cover its uninsured. The plan, TennCare, fulfilled that mission but nearly bankrupted the state in the process.

As originally envisioned, the Tennessee plan expanded Medicaid, the government health-care program for the poor, to cover people who couldn’t afford insurance or who had been denied coverage by an insurance company.
