The independent review found Improving the health and well-being of 1.4 million NHS staff could potentially save over half a billion pounds every year.
David Cameron, the Conservative leader, said the figures were “very depressing” but reflected broader problems with public health in society as a whole.
He told GMTV: “They are very depressing figures, and they show that the NHS itself has to do better.
“But I think they also reflect a light on a problem that is society-wide, which is very bad public health outcomes in our country, whether it is smoking, diet, weight, alcohol, also the issue of sexually transmitted diseases, we have very bad public health outcomes in Britain.”
He added: “We need to have an approach that says of course the NHS is absolutely vital in the nation’s health, but we do need to protect those public health budgets, and make sure we are making progress on things like smoking, diet and obesity, all the things that will put pressure on the NHS itself in the future.”
The more healthcare news we see coming from the UK the more I don’t want their type of health care here in our country. Why does Obama and the democrats want to force UK type socialist health care onto us? Does anyone have an answer!

Mother-of-three Carmen Blake called her midwife to ask for an ambulance when she went into labour unexpectedly with her fourth child.

America is this the kind of health care that we need? Obama’s government ran health care will be just as bad if not worst than the government ran health care in the UK where this sort ( refused an ambulance ) of treatment happens on a daily basis from what we have heard from over across the pond.

Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D. presented his cooperative health care proposal here Thursday and told an audience of 100 that he would not vote for a government-run health care program.
We better not take our guard down because Obama and the democrats could try to sneak away into the bill so it can be changed to a government ran health care without permission from congress. So keep up the hard fight to the end and request that any bill be read before its voted on!
The cooperative would offer a non-profit insurance option to compete with private health care. Sounds almost like a government ran health care to me…what you say?
