Obama 365 + 1 days later ( Only 24% Strongly Approve His Job Performance)

Obama finished the year 2008 not so good. His bragging that he was ready on day one turns out 365 days later he’s still not ready!

A bomber slipped into a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday and detonated a suicide vest, killing eight CIA officers in one of the deadliest days in the agency’s history, current and former U.S. officials said.  SOURCE

American military fatalities in Afghanistan doubled in 2009 compared with the previous year, and U.S. officials and analysts acknowledge that the new year is likely to prove even more lethal.
The year’s tally was 319, compared with 155 in 2008 SOURCE

Former Gitmo Detainees Who Returned to Terrorism
The Pentagon most recently released a report in May showing that one in seven former detainees either returned, or is suspected of returning, to terrorist activity. At least two of them have taken leading roles in Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the group that has claimed responsibility for the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight on Christmas Day.

The Obama administration says it will proceed with caution in transferring any more detainees out of Guantanamo Bay but is determined to shutter the facility.

The following is a partial list, based on the information made public by the Pentagon, of former detainees thought to have returned to the battlefield. Confirmed Cases

Unemployment is at an all time high with many areas at 12% or higher. We still have troops in Iraq. No healthcare bill on Obama desk to be signed in 2008 thank goodness. Iran giving Obama the finger, yes that finger and Russia playing its own game, not the Obama game!

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 24% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18. Twenty-nine percent (29%) now say the country is heading in the right direction.

Are you better off today, do you feel safe under Obama’s so called leadership?

The best news I see here is 2010 election year with the Democrats and Obama falling on their face at every turn. The American voters will soon have their say!

The recession is forcing districts to lay off teachers (Mismanaged School Budgets)

The recession is forcing districts to lay off teachers even as the economic stimulus pumps billions of dollars into schools. As a result, classrooms across the country will be more crowded when school starts in the fall.

Patti Hathorn, a fifth-grade teacher in rural Pinson, Ala., is expecting 29 or 30 students, making it the biggest class she’s taught. Many of her students at Kermit Johnson Elementary are learning English or are in special education.

“You may have a child that needs you, that needs that adult figure, to spend the extra five minutes with them. If you have five or six extra kids, that five minutes is gone,” Hathorn said.

It’s the same story in small communities such as Pinson and Wapakoneta, Ohio, and urban areas including Los Angeles and Broward County, Fla. In many places, classes will have well over 30 kids.

There is no official data on class sizes for the upcoming year; many states and districts have not finalized their budgets. A survey this year by the American Association of School Administrators found that 44 percent of school districts expected to increase class size.

Educators and parents worry the larger classes will keep kids from learning. Read More

Nothing new about schools Mismanaging taxpayers money. Plus its about time teachers should be made to teach larger classes. Why can’t teachers today teach 35 or 40 kids per classroom the teachers of the pass taught that many and more with less wages.

Obamas Liberal legal group

Sixteen appointees and advisers helping president-elect Barack Obama’s Justice Department transition efforts all recently sat on the board of a little-known organization: The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.

The liberal legal network, which blossomed during eight years of Democratic exile, counts as its veterans Obama’s attorney general nominee Eric Holder, Vice President-elect Joe Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain, and future White House Staff Secretary Lisa Brown.
The ACS links also reach far into Obama’s past legal career. Harvard University law professor Laurence Tribe, a member of the ACS Board of Advisors, taught Obama constitutional law and later advised his campaign on legal issues. Read More
